Description of book
Close to Famous is a book about a girl named Foster who has to move away quickly when a man her mother used to know chases them out of their house. They end up in a town called Culpepper where a tow truck driver lets them live in his airstream camper. One day Foster goes to a restaurant and brings them some muffins and cupcakes to see if they will start selling her products. They love the treats and they start selling fast. One day Foster meets a boy about her age who loves to make documentary films. The boy also works for a famous actress, Miss Charleena who lives in the town, he acts like a servant to her. one day the boy gets sick and needs Foster to fill in for him. Foster takes the job and there is only one problem, she can't read. When Miss Charleena finds out she's not doing anything because she doesn't know how to read the list she doesn't get mad and instead they agree Foster will teach Miss Charleena to cook if Miss Charleena teaches Foster to read. At the end Miss Charleena has a graduation party and her mother finally gets to sing which has been her dream forever.

What I Thought About This BookI thought the book Close to Famous was a little sad but also had a good ending because everyone's dreams came true. For instance Foster's mom gets to sing solo and Foster learns how to read. I also liked how it had lots of different action like how Sonny Kroll, Foster's idol gets hurt and how there is a prison in the town they're living in. Over all I really enjoyed the book. MGPS (3)
