Summary:
Ananka Fishbein life was horribly boring until, one morning, she climbed down that orange rope into that sink hole in the park in front of her house. What she finds down there is a room. Just a room. But on the shelf attached to the wall,(which is made of dirt) there is a book.That book is called Glimpses of Gotham. It tells her all about the bad parts of New York City (she lives here.)When she gets it down, she sees a meticulously concealed trap door. when she opens it, she sees what will be known to her as the Shadow City. Next thing she knows, she finds out that the little girl who left her the rope's name is Kiki Strike and start stalking her around town. One day the tiny girl talks to Ananka and they form a group called the Irregulars and they adventures exploring this subterreanean world are chronicled in this book.
