Stargirl is about a 10th grade girl who is a brand new to student to Mica High School. The first day of school Stargirl comes into school wearing "non-appealing" (that is to the student body) clothes, brings a rat to school, and sings "Happy Birthday" with her ukelele. At first stargirl is a hit everyone loves her quirky and kind personality, but things change during the school year. Leo Borlock finds himself falling in love with Stargirl, but when she becomes an outcast things have to change or else Leo doesn't think their relationship will last.

I loved this book so much! The reason for this is because the book inspires me to be myself on any occasion. It also really describes how sometimes people want to be liked so they transform themselves to act and look like everyone else. Although being your self can be really hard I love it how Stargirl is fearless in everyway even when people try to bring her down. This book is great for people who love determination books, and also a very good book to sit down and relax with because the story will inspire you to change the way you think about others. If you read this book then there is a second book that is called Love, Stargirl. BSC(6)
